As SB Civil Engineering we awarded with a brilliant opportunity to work with Network Rail and develop a new depot for them in Chelmsford Essex.
The civil engineering groundworks package consisted of installing a new drainage system including manhole construction. SB Civils also had to lay mesh in sections for each concrete slab pour which you can see the results from the pictures on this page. The work was extensive and took a lot of man power, but the results were very impressive and the client was pleased with the overall outcome.
The concrete slab pours were done on a schedule and these were agreed with the clients and ourselves before the works began, we were to follow a programme developed to keep the job on track and finishing on time.
The drainage system put in place has also been pictured above showing the complexity and construction that this in takes and also shows the high standard of SB Civils works. Each concrete pour was leveled and then scored to give the effect you can see above on the completed picture, once each section was completed a seal was made to connect each section with another.
We have incurred some additional works from the client which meant a revised programme and schedule of works to follow. The operatives and supervision team on site will remain on site until works come to a close. The laying of the concrete is still ongoing.
