Since our formation, SB Civil Engineering has helped a wealth of firms in the British highways sector with Section 278 compliant roadworks and urban regeneration.
Our team works closely with local highways authorities across the south-east of England, Hertfordshire and throughout London. This has equipped us with an extensive level of experience, understanding and confidence in everything concerning the Section 278 Highways Act (S278) and the public highway sector.
Section 278 and The Services We Provide
Our work is always suited specifically to the client’s individual needs, whilst always adhering to Section 278 of the Highways Act, and the relevant health and safety measures. We provide everything required to build your project from the planning stages to completion, including asphalting, traffic management, street lighting, signs, lines and help with the paperwork.
Our S278 Works Qualifications
Due to our high-quality service, we have been appointed as approved contractors for Highways England (formerly Highways Agency). However, we also put our own measures in place to ensure that we provide the best service possible at all times.
To maintain our high standards, all staff have a CSCS accreditation as a minimum, although most will either currently have or be working towards their NVQ levels 2 and 3. Our site supervisors hold both Street Work and SSSTS/SMSTS certifications, while our highway teams all hold the New Roads & Streetworks qualifications at both the supervisor and operative levels.
